Paper toy 1997

Here's where the paper toy story starts.  In the late 1990's I was playing with paper engineering in the form of pop-up books and boxes when I discovered Paul Spooner's paper automata.  I copied his mechanisms – in this case, when the big star is turned, the little star pops out, and the pick name is revealed.  This toy box is 3" wide by 2 1/2" tall by 1/2" deep.
